Charity
Samsara Expeditions are committed to the Everest Region and utilise local resources wherever possible. We will continue to support the local people not only with the work we generate for them but also with support and financing of education and training for individuals. In the past we have funded school development projects in Nepal's far west and Royal Bardia National Park. Our Nepalese colleagues or 'Parivar', Nepalese for family, are very much part of the team.
Nepalese Fundraising & Donations
In addition to the fundraising and support in Nepal above, at Samsara we remain committed to all areas of support we feel most suitable for the people of Nepal. Our main fundraising focus for 2005 & 2006 will be the Mount Everest Foundation which was founded in 1953 initially from the surplus funds and equipment left over after the successful ascent of Everest.
In addition it costs just 60000 rupees ($900) to train a health assistant or teacher. For the same cost we can also help local people train for careers, such as cooks and climbing sherpas.
Samsara are currently sponsoring an English teacher at BBAS School in Bardia, Western Nepal
If you wish to sponsor someone or sponsor a project in Nepal we can either put you in touch with such groups in Nepal or forward your donation direct to organisations such as schools in remote areas.
