The Kingdom of Nepal lies sandwiched between India to the South and Tibet & the Peoples Republic of China to the North. The capital Kathmandu is a hub for adventure travellers like no other, with Nepal's draw of the mountains, National Parks and hill regions that attract millions of visitors every year.
Nepal is a land of diversity, ranging from just 70 metres above sea level in the sub tropical jungles of the Terai and flat river plain of the Ganges to the rugged Himalayas and Mount Everest at 8,850 metres in the north.
After several years of unrest, albeit not targetted against tourists, in November 2006 the government and Maoists signed the Comprehensive Peace Accord to end the ten year insurgency.
