Yala Snow Mountain Trek
This journey takes you through trditional Tibetan villages to reach Yala Snow Mountain
Overview
Tagong Grassland (3500 m) lies in the northwest of Kangding in Kham Area; the wide grassland is surrounded by beautiful snow mountains. Tanggong Monastery, which is famous all over the world, situated on the grassland. Every festival, the laborious Tibetan people will get together on Tanggong Grassland to singing and dance. We can feel the deep Tibetan folks here.
Mugecuo Nature Reserve is also a famous showplace in Kham area, it is famous for the beautiful scenery and alp lakes here.
Yala Holy Mountain (5820 m) located on the border of Kangding, Daofu and Danba of Ganzi Zang Autonomy Prefecture in Sichuan Province. The top of mountain is covered with snow all the year around, it is a famous holy mountain in Kham area. And it is also the cradle of Yala River which flowing into Dadu River. There are tens ravines around the Yala Holy Mountain with different shapes.

Itinerary
Day 1.
Arrive Chengdu. Hotel****
Arrive; Chengdu by air. If arriving at Chengdu in the morning, we can arrange for you to have a city tour in Chengdu. Stay the night in 4* hotel.
Day 2.
Chengdu / Hailuogou (Moxi County). Hotel
Start in the morning, driving from Chengdu along Chengdu – Ya’an highway for about 140 km to Ya’an, and then we take the 318 national road to Tianquan about 210 km, crossing over Erlang Mountain to Luding, then on to Kangding. During the journey, we can admire the rural beauty of west Sichuan and the magnificent Qingyi River, the steep Erlang Mountain, and overlook the Kingof the Sichuan Mountains – Gonggar Mountain itself. Crossing over the Dadu River, we arrive, at last,at Moxi County which situated at the foot of Gonggar Mountain. Stay night in hotel.
Day 3.
Hailuogou / Kangding. Hotel***
Set off in the morning; going by eco-friendly car, to visit camp 3, we trek through the virgin foreststo Hailuogou glacier. We will have a trekking tour on the ice glacier; we then leave Hailuogou to Kangding by bus. We will then visit the Luding Bridge which is over the Dadu River, and the beautiful scenery of Kangding, and in the evening take a hot spring bath. Stay night in hotel.
Day 4.
Kangding / Mugecuo. Rest House
Getting up early in the morning, we will visit the famous Paoma Mountain, the Tibetan Buddhism Anjue Monastery, after supper, we will drive for 38 km. to Mugecuo (3777 m). After arriving Mugecuo, we will visit Mugecuo Nature Reserve. And prepare for trekking. Stay night in Mugecuo rest house.
Day 5.
Mugecuo / Qiangba. Camping
After breakfast, we trek to Tagong Grassland. Walking from Mugecuo along the big raceway, there are thick virgin forests and grasslands, the banks stretch to the beautiful alpine lake Jiaxiala (Honghaizi). Crossing through the flat-topped ridge (4165m), walking down along Selalongba River for 2 km, then crossing over Misela Mountain (4245m) to Five Colour Sea. After soaking up the beautiful scenery of Five Colour Sea, we will continue our trek through the grasslands in Qiangba. There are alpine lakes dotted throughout the journey, wide and beautiful grassland, and pastures. There are no roads and no villages, everything here looks original and peaceful. Stay night in camp on the grassland.
Day 6.
Qiangba / Tagong. Tibetan Rest House
After leaving Qiangba, there are wide grasslands and snow capped mountains in the distance. Trekking through grasslands, along the way, we can see the Tibetan Manidui, waving flags of religion and the Yala Holy Mountain (5820m). Passing by Xiamalong Village, we visit the nunnery. Then we go to Tagong grasslands to visit grand Tibetan Buddhism Cangjing Hall and Tagong Monastery. Stay night in Tibetan guest house and sample traditional Tibetan food.
Day 7.
Tagong / Danba. Gubao Hotel
Setting off early in the morning, we drive to Bamei to visit the Tibetan Buddhism Huiyuan Monastery. Then we drive over Gedaliangzi Mountain, going into the canyon, we can admire the majestic Yala Holy Mountain from the southwest. After that, we drive along Donggu River into Donggu valley. Donggu valley is famous for its majestic scenery in the Kham area. When we reach the Dadu River, we arrive at the Land of Thousand Watchtowers – Danba. Stay night in hotel.
Day 8.
Danba. Gubao Hotel
Getting up early in the morning, we go to Jiaju Tibetan Village, which located on the mountainside of the Valley of the Dadu River; we will visit a local house and eat traditional Tibetan food. Then we head off back to Danba to visit the ancient watchtowers on the mountainside near the river.
Day 9.
Danba / Rilong. Jinkun Hotel****
After breakfast, we will go to Rilong, which situated on the foot of Siguniang Mountain, via Xiaojin. During the journey, we can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Xiaojin River Valley. Then we arrive at Shuangqiaogou a spectacular beauty spot in Siguniang, and take a car to do some sightseeing and admire the amazing landscape here. After supper, taking part in Gyarong Tibetan Guozhuang soiree, tasting roasted goat. Stay night in Rilong.
Day 10.
Rilong /Chengdu. Hotel****
Leaving Mt. Siguniang, crossing over Balang Mountain (more than 4000m), we then get to Wolong Giant Panda Nature Reserve to visit the giant panda. Then via Dujiangyan, we go back to Chengdu. In the evening we taste the famous Sichuan snacks. Stay night in hotel.
Day 11.
Leave Chengdu.
Leaving Chengdu in the morning or in the afternoon, we take you to the airport by air-conditioned bus for your onward journey.
