Overview
This short but eventful journey takes you to one of the lesser visited corners of India, Assam.
We make our way to the Kaziranga National Park which is located on the banks of the mighty Brahmaputra River in the far North East of India and home to two-thirds of the world's population of the great one horned Indian Rhino. Kaziranga has also the highest density of tigers among protected areas in the world and was declared a Tiger Reserve in 2006.

Located on the banks of the mighty Brahmaputra River in the far North East of India, Assam, Kaziranga National Park covers an area of approximately 430-sq-kms with its swamps and tall thickets of elephant grass making it the ideal habitat for the Indian One-Horned Rhino. Due to limitless poaching of this prehistoric survivor, the Kaziranga National Park was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1940.
Beside the great one horned Indian Rhino, other major wild attractions include a large population of Indian Elephants, Indian Bison, Swamp Deer or Barasingha, Hog Deer, Sloth Bears, Tigers, Leopard Cats, Jungle Cats, Otters, Hog Badgers, Capped Langurs, Hoolock Gibbons, Wild Boar, Jackal, Wild Buffalo, Pythons, Monitor Lizards, etc.
Kaziranga National Park is a birding paradise; the grasslands are a raptor country that can be seen on safari makes a remarkable experience. These include the Oriental Honey Buzzard, Black-Shouldered Kite, Black Kite, Brahminy Kite, Pallas's Fishing Eagle, White Tailed Eagle, Grey-Headed Fishing Eagle, Himalayan Griffon, etc. Huge numbers of migratory birds descend on the parks lakes and marshy areas during winters, including Greylag Geese, Bar-Headed Geese, Ruddy Shelduck, Gadwall, Falcated Duck, Red-Crested Pochard and Northern Shoveller.
Itinerary
Day 1.
Arrive Delhi and transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 2.
Delhi to Dibrugarh
Morning catch flight to Dibrugarh. Late afternoon enjoy horse riding amidst the rolling carpet of tea bushes, see how its grown and tea tasting , continue riding on the banks of the river Brahmaputra.
Day 3.
Dibrugarh to Digboi
After breakfast drive to Digboi, the oldest oil town in South Asia and pay homage at the World War II war memorial. After lunch drive back to Dibrugarh. Rest of day at leisure.
Day 4.
Dibrugarh to Kaziranga
After breakfast drive to Kaziranga, but first stopping at Sibsagar to visit the Ahom monuments. Arrive early evening and check in to lodge.
Day 5.
Kaziranga
Morning and evening game viewing in the Kaziranga National Park. Overnight at lodge.
Day 6.
Kaziranga
Morning and evening game viewing in the Kaziranga National Park. Overnight at lodge.
Day 7.
Kaziranga to Guwahati.
Morning drive to Guwahati. Arrive at Guwahati and check in at hotel. Afternoon visit to the Kamakhya Temple and sunset on the river Brahmaputra. Overnight at hotel.
Day 8.
Guwahati to Delhi or Kolkata
Fly from Guwahati to Kolkata or Delhi. Arrive at Kolkata or Delhi and transfer to international airport to board your flight for onward journey.
